1. Our Commitment

We are a digital marketingagency built exclusively for senior living operators in Canada. The audiencesour clients serve — older adults, their families, and people with disabilities— depend on accessible digital experiences. We hold ourselves to the samestandard we set for our clients.

Senior Maple Marketing aims tomeet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across allpages of this website. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the recognized internationalstandard for web accessibility and is referenced by both the Accessibility forOntarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Accessible Canada Act (ACA).

Accessibility is an ongoingpractice, not a one-time project. We review and improve the accessibility ofthis site on a continuous basis and treat feedback from users as an essentialpart of that process.

2. Applicable Standards and Regulations

This website is designed withreference to the following standards and regulatory frameworks:

3. Current Accessibility Status

This website has been designedand developed with accessibility in mind from the ground up. The followingmeasures have been implemented:

3.1 What we have implemented

  • Semantic HTML5 structure throughout all pages,including proper heading hierarchy (H1 through H3), landmark regions, anddescriptive page titles
  • All images include descriptive alt text. Decorativeimages are marked with empty alt attributes so screen readers skip themappropriately
  • All form fields on the contact form and newslettersign-up are associated with visible labels and include error identification andsuggestion text
  • Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AAminimums: 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components
  • The website is fully keyboard navigable. Allinteractive elements are reachable and operable using the Tab, Enter, Space,and arrow keys without requiring a mouse
  • Focus indicators are visible on all interactiveelements when navigating by keyboard
  • No content flashes more than three times per second,reducing risk for visitors with photosensitive epilepsy
  • The site does not use timed content or sessions thatexpire without warning
  • Cookie consent banner is keyboard accessible andoperable by screen reader
  • The site is built on Webflow, which generatesstandards-compliant HTML and supports responsive design across all viewportsizes

3.2 Testing approach

This website has been evaluatedusing the following methods:

  • Automated scanning using axe DevTools to identifycommon WCAG 2.1 failures
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing across all pages andinteractive components
  • Screen reader testing using NVDA on Windows andVoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • Colour contrast verification using the WebAIM ContrastChecker
  • Responsive layout testing across mobile, tablet, anddesktop viewports

3.3 Known limitations

We are committed to transparencyabout areas where we are still working toward full compliance. The followinglimitations are known and being actively addressed:

  • Third-party embedded content: Some content embeddedfrom third-party platforms (including video content and social media widgetswhen used) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working to identifyaccessible alternatives or supplementary formats for any such content.
  • PDF documents: Any PDF documents linked from this sitemay not be fully accessible. We are reviewing all linked documents and willprovide accessible HTML alternatives upon request.
  • Formal audit: A comprehensive third-party accessibilityaudit against the full WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria has not yet beencompleted. We are committed to completing this audit by Q4 2026 and will updatethis statement with findings.

We do not consider any of theabove limitations to create a significant barrier to the core functionality ofthis website, including contacting us, accessing service information, andsubscribing to our newsletter.

4. Assistive Technology Compatibility

This website is designed to becompatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Keyboard-only navigation using standard browserkeyboard shortcuts
  • Voice control software including DragonNaturallySpeaking and Voice Control (macOS/iOS)
  • Browser zoom up to 400% without loss of content orfunctionality
  • High contrast mode on Windows and macOS

The website has been testedprimarily in the latest versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, andMicrosoft Edge on desktop and mobile. If you experience issues with a specificbrowser or assistive technology combination, please let us know.
